Premier League, the professional league for english football clubs, is the top English football league and is England's primary football competition. Being promoted and marketed as "The Greatest Show On Earth", the Premier League is currently the world's most popular sporting event. The Premier League is followed world-wide by more than half a billion people across 202 countries.

The Premier League was formed as the FA Premier League on 20Feb92. Since then, the Premier League has gained momentum and became the world's most popular and lucrative sporting league. 40 clubs have competed in the history of the Premier League; however, only 4 have ever won the title. The clubs are Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Blackburn Rovers. The Premier League is extremely popular in Asia with a very large follower base. It is the most widely distributed sports tv programme in Asia. In China alone, the Premier League matches attract btw 100 million and 360 million viewers; higher than any other international sports program.

Because of the popular covering, the Premier League attracts a large number of bookies offering punters with a wide choice of betting opportunities. Even though betting is largely illegal in Asia, the Premier League is still the single largest sports gambling market. In recent years, a new betting system has emerged from asia. Referred as the Asian Handicap system, or simply Asian Handicapping, it eliminates any possibilities of a loss due to a tie. Asian Handicap is currently widely gambled upon in Asia, not only in the Premier League, but also all other major football oods.
